Micah Caldwell is an associate in the firm's Cable Television and Broadcasting practices, where she focuses on a wide range of regulatory issues. Since joining Fleischman & Harding, Ms. Caldwell has had extensive involvement in cable merger proceedings requiring Federal Communications Commission and local franchise authority approval, and has advised clients regarding must carry/retransmission consent issues.
Ms. Caldwell has also represented wireless and wireline companies in merger and other transactional proceedings before the FCC, as well as radio stations regarding various regulatory matters related to license renewal, construction applications, FCC reporting and public inspection file requirements, and tower leases. During law school, Ms. Caldwell worked at the FCC in the Enforcement Bureau's Investigations & Hearings Division.
Ms. Caldwell has co-authored an article regarding FCC regulation of broadcast indecency. In addition, Ms. Caldwell is an active member of the Federal Communications Bar Association (Charity Auction Subcommittee Co-Chair, 2005) and is a vice-chair of the ABA's Media, Privacy & Defamation Law Committee.
Ms. Caldwell is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia.
