This week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Public Notice announcing that it has sent Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters to a randomly selected group of multi-channel video programming distributors (MVPDs). Approximately five percent of MVPDs have been selected as part of the audit. A list of the selected MVPDs is included with this memorandum.
MVPDs that have been selected must submit certain EEO-related data and information as requested by the FCC. MVPDs with less than six full-time employees that are not required to have an EEO recruitment program under FCC rules must still respond to the audit letter but only need to respond with a list of full-time employees identified by job title and the number of hours each employee works per week. MVPDs with six or more full-time employees must respond in a more detailed manner pursuant to the audit letter’s instructions. All audit letter responses must be received by the FCC by November 23, 2009.
